Hi Grandpa McNamara, Grandpa/Grandma Le!

Ryland's first month was packed with visitors galore from both sides of the family.

Ryland's Canadian Granpa visits. He has always had a knack for impeccable timing. After hosing off the little guy and a smooth 1 night stay in the hospital, we bundled him up and headed for his home. Grandpa Terry arrived the next day to see what the stork had delivered.

We had been living in a 600 sq ft apartment on the beach in Del Mar. What's wrong with having 4 to 600 sq ft? That's at least a 10x15 ft area for each person. Ry Guy was still a little small so we thought we could borrow some of his square footage. Here are some pics of Gramps' visit.

We had our hands full with the Ry-Man. Kim was a trooper with the night shift duties. The first month was as a lot of people had said, euphoria masking the sleepless nights. However, Ry-Man was up to the task of checking out the world. We may have been a bit overzealous as Kim's first day out of the hospital we headed to the San Ysidro Outlet Malls. Dad was a bit nervous as if you miss the exit for the mall, it's no turning around and Ry-Guy is headed to Mex with no papers!

We decided to stay within international border lines Day 4 of Life and he was on the Torrey Pines Golf Course. Didn't bring his clubs though, so we thought we'd just chow down at "Lodge Grill".

Round 2 of vistors came with Grandma and Grandpa Le. They drove down with coolers of food enough to feed us for the month. 600 sq ft was a bit too small for 5 of us so they got a place just down the street. Someone's spare bedroom on Craigslist in Solana Beach worked out! Here's a taste of their stay:

Yeah for Grandparents!

Hi Everyone!

Well..... July 11th 2008 was a big day for Kim & I. The little guy was fashionably late by a week but came into our lives... All 7lbs 13 ounces of him @ 146 AM!

The delivery was the quietest delivery that I'd ever been in, almost surreal.  We had a great OB doc with Trina Manes who I knew from residency.  After the epidural and 9 hours of labor, Kim was a champ and  the little guy came out after 2 1/2 hours of hard pushing.

The Ry-Guy came out with eyes wide open and looking around at 8 hour of life.  Check him out!

Ryland's Grandparents weren't in town yet, but we had a good crew of visitors to see the little guy.

After one day in the hospital, we got to take the little guy home and test him out.  We found out he was real good at crying and pooping.   Kim was amazing and did great with the midnight feeds.  She's been a natural at motherhood.

As for me.... I've decided I could start making big bucks by making a book on "What not to do with your kiddo".

Rule #1 : "Don't wake a sleeping baby to play with them"
